“Why did you choose to study to be a Master Gardener?”

—Because I believe that in childhood there is the seed of what is to come. When I started I was very undecided between doing this or teaching, but I understood that the psychomotor, ethical and moral training of children was more attractive to me than their training in language, mathematics or social sciences.

“What do you like the most about studying and what do you dislike?”

—What I like the most are the internships that we started doing from the second year. With them we begin to truly get involved with the profession and we get into the living rooms, which is the most beautiful thing. They are like projections of what we will do next. I also like psychology-related subjects a lot, since they allow us to approach children’s behaviors from different perspectives and even detect behavior problems that they may have early on. There is nothing specific that I dislike, I think that everything we see in the race is useful, so it is interesting or not for each student we can take advantage of it.

“What is it like to work with children in a kindergarten room?”

—I only have the experience of the practices for now, which in any case project the later work very well. It is very enriching, children fill us with affection, modifying any discomfort that we carry. This does have its negative features, although for my part I think they are overshadowed by the positive. There are children who are very restless, or who have severe behavior problems due to specific conflicts in their homes or the now famous attention and hyperactivity disorders. It is a challenge to integrate them and, at the same time, very painful to see that they cannot overcome these problems being so small.

“Why would you recommend someone to study this career?”

—Because it is very pleasant for those of us who like to establish relationships with children. However, it is necessary to have temperance well exercised; I have seen practitioners who get very nervous about children’s restlessness and it is necessary not to lose their calm, since this stimulates them more. Because exercising the position of Teacher at that level allows children to be provided with the tools that they will use in their adulthood, even if they do not remember them on a conscious level. Because there is a very positive feedback based on the exchange of education for love. Because it can be practiced in both the private and state educational fields and, with advanced courses, it is also possible to work in kindergartens with children with different abilities.

To be a Teacher of Initial Education or kindergarten, you need to have satisfactorily completed studies in high school or Polimodal, then you have to enroll in a Higher Institute of Teacher Training (ISFD), teachers or normal schools.
