The Graphic Design career is responsible for training people so that they can communicate information from a visual perspective including events, ideas and values that affect different factors in society.

Josetxo Aldunate, Creative Director at iLUNE, tells us about graphic design and why he chose this career for his future.

Do you want to be a designer?

The insertion of Graphic Design professionals has evolved in recent times and their participation within public and private organizations is constantly manifested through the incorporation of professionals in the media, advertising agencies and publishers. This is because society has advanced in terms of persuasion and today it is impossible to deny that almost everything can be communicated through the visual, from concise and clear messages to subliminal ideas capable of generating a concrete action in whoever observes the image.

The graduate of the Graphic Design career will be in charge of the design of logos to graphic or digital advertising campaigns, both within private companies and in the field or state or performing independently. The academic training in this discipline emphasizes fundamentally on the practical issues of Design, which is why it is a career that requires creativity and imagination to be the strengths of the student. This does not imply that its approval does not require effort, since the time load of the course and the study and practical time that it is necessary to invest to become a good professional are as arduous as for most careers.

Why study Graphic Design?

  • Because you believe in the saying that “an image is worth a thousand words” and you maintain that communication is more effective – especially with regard to the subliminal – from the visual plane.
  • Because you are creative and you would like to apply that creativity to your profession.
  • Because you only like the stage of creation itself and not the implementation of marketing strategies.
  • Because you have the ability to empathize with people to know what they really want to convey and the ability to understand the best way for that message to reach the target audience.
  • Because you constantly look at what the images you see say beyond what they specifically show.
  • Because you consider yourself an artist and you want to apply that art to messages for society.
