Neuro-Linguistic Programming is a discipline that aims to help improve communication and behavior through the analysis of language and the way we see the world through the senses.
What is Neurolinguistic Programming about?
It is a model for studying human behavior based on the underlying issues. It is also a form of psychotherapy, but unlike the traditional ones, it aims to directly modify their actions. As its name indicates, it aims to create behavioral programs based on language, that is, the mechanism through which we interpret the world and interact with our peers, and the use of the senses. Through the senses we perceive the world, and this subjective interpretation will shape our external behavior. If we can improve the use of these senses, we can “reprogram” our mind to improve our behavior. This discipline is based on the idea that our external action is given by the interpretation of the world that we make from our senses, and social problems by thinking that our peers start from a general conceptual map. What it will try to do is modify this input of “data” to our mental system and what our brain will return in the form of action. Depending on which senses are fundamental to our perception of the world, 3 systems of sensory representation will be built:
The visual, the auditory and the kinesthetic. Each of these systems make up different personalities. Acting on these methods of “entry” into the system will modify behavior, solving the personal issues of the person on whom it acts.
What tasks does a Neurolinguistic Programmer perform?
The Neurolinguistic Programmer will develop a kind of psychotherapy, either individually or in specific groups, in order to develop a strategy that leads to the use of different senses, or their interpretation in different ways, to the modification of the language used and how the itself is internalized, with the ultimate aim of improving the behavior of the attendees, their interpretation of the world and society and the resolution of the problems that this misinterpretation can cause them.
