In addition to the voice, a singer can choose what style of music to sing: from opera, choir, jazz, blues, country to rock, punk, pop, rap, reggae, electronic music (in its different variants) and many other styles, everything will depend on the musical taste of each singer.
Advantages of being a singer
The professional singers that most people are familiar with are the superstars from the top of the field. Most professional singers fall short of the level of fame or income that is enjoyed by artists like Celine Dion or Luciano Pavarotti. But, even to a lesser degree, being a professional singer can bring you nice benefits. If you become a musician of considerable success the advantages will be: gain fame and recognition for your work, a feeling of achievement, you will be able to travel to different parts of the world, you will be very successful, you will give many concerts, you will have a good income, etc. If you were not so successful, you would also have the advantage of being able to enjoy doing what you really love.
Disadvantages of being a singer
In case of being very successful, the disadvantages would be the following: a busy schedule, loneliness is possible, there are high probabilities of estrangement from friends, as well as the loss of privacy. If you were not very successful, the disadvantage would be, above all, having a limited income.

In Argentina: the National University of Cuyo (UNCUYO) offers the Bachelor’s Degree in Singing that lasts for 5 years.
The National University of the Arts (UNA) offers the Bachelor of Musical Arts program with guidance in singing, with a duration of 7 semesters (equivalent to 3 and a half years), the School of Music of Buenos Aires, CAEMSA, IUNA, etc.
In Spain: the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC) offers training in Composition, the Abat Oliba CEU University offers the Postgraduate in voice and body. The Rey Juan Carlos University offers the Degree in Performing Arts, with a total of 240 Credits and an approximate cost of 8,500 Euros per year.
