The Curriculum vitae (CV) It is a written and orderly summary, of one or two pages, of your training and work experiences. Its objective is to demonstrate the suitability of your application for a specific job position and allow you to access the selection process. Types of curriculum vitae
- Chronological ascending. It consists of ordering work experience and training in order from oldest to most recent. It is not recommended if you have changed jobs frequently.

10 tips to make a good resume
1. Be brief. Your CV should not be very long (maximum two pages), but it should contain the key information of your profile.
2. Adapt it to business. Modify your resume to fit each application. In each case, highlight your skills, competencies, knowledge and experience that make you ideal to fill the specific job.
3. Take care of the formal aspects of the curriculum. Include a good photograph, use a formal typeface, and structure the different sections well. The CV has to be clear and have a good presentation.
4. Be sincere. Put true information. False information always comes to light and will harm your profile.
5. Avoid unnecessary details. Do not put details such as your marital status or that you have taken a yoga course if it is not related to the job offer. Include only information that is of interest to the type of job you are looking for.

Parts of the curriculum vitae
The main data that your CV must include are the following:
- Name and surname
- Telephone and email
- Links to your blog, professional social networks, website, …
- Training can be classified into regulated training (official qualifications) and complementary training (specific courses, workshops, seminars, etc.).
- You must put the year and the center where you have completed the studies.
- In the case of complementary training, it is recommended that you include the number of hours.
- Avoid unnecessary information, for example, it is not necessary to put additional training that is not related to the job you are looking for.
Languages and computing
- If these are important on their own, as the job requires it, they will be set aside. If not, they can be put in the sector of other knowledge / other training.
- You must specify the level of languages, the degree (for example, First Certificate) and the year in which you obtained it.
- In case you do not have any title, you will put the degree of knowledge at the level of “spoken and written”.
- In reference to computing, you must put all the languages and programs that you know, specifying the center where you have studied and year.
- In the event that you do not have a degree in computer science, you will put the computer knowledge you have and the level.
Work data / work experience
- Specify the company where you have worked, the sector, period of time in years or months, functions performed and position held.
- You can add the work experience without a contract and if the work experience is very scarce, the internships or volunteer activities carried out.
- This includes what does not fall into the above categories, but may be useful for the position you are applying for. For example, driver’s license and own vehicle, time availability, letters of recommendation, hobbies or interests (only if they are related to the job position).
- It is only advisable to put this section in case it is a self-candidacy or when the curriculum vitae is very scattered. Setting a goal can indicate motivation for a certain job in a specific department.
The conventional curriculum vitae exposes the professional trajectory as a summary, but does not allow knowing some of the competences such as creativity, the initiative or the application of knowledge in new technologies.
