The International University of Valencia – VIU was created in 2008 by the Generalitat Valenciana as a public entity, teaching for the first time in the 2010-2011 academic year the first official degrees. In 2013, Grupo Planeta acquired the majority of the shareholders, integrating it into Planeta Formación y Universidades, one of the most important international networks of educational institutions in the world. Currently the VIU is one of the leading online universities in the Spanish-speaking world, with more than 12,000 students of 72 different nationalities, mainly in Spain and Latin America. It has a unique and cutting-edge online methodology, with live videoconference classes, in the that you can ask the teacher and interact with him and with classmates, encouraging discussion and sharing of knowledge and experiences, and creating a learning dynamic that combines the best of online advantages with the benefits of face-to-face classes. The VIU collaborates closely with national and international companies, favoring research synergies and collaboration agreements. Currently the total number of internship and collaboration agreements amounts to 3305, and includes companies and organizations such as: Atresmedia, Asisa, CaixaBank, IBM, DELL, Sonda, Microsoft, Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Hubspot, Grupo Planeta, aulaPlaneta, Seix Barral , Casa del Libro, Education 3.0, AEPAE, Red Cross, Secretary of State for Security, General Secretariat of Penitentiary Institutions, Professional College of Criminologists, Save the Children, Cambridge University Press, Hospital Quirón Salud, ICEX, Deloitte, Endesa, Generali, Chamber of Commerce of Spain, CINFA, CSIC, Coca Cola Andina, and FAGDE, among others.
The International University of Valencia has an Internal Quality Assurance system established according to the principles set out in the AUDIT Program of the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA), aligned with the criteria and guidelines of the European Higher Education Area .
