There are many requirements that must be met before you can become a medical examiner. A medical examiner is part of the criminal justice system and the term “coroner” is commonly used to refer to a medical examiner.

Forensic science is a growing field that involves the study of how the human body works. In the field of forensic science, there are several subfields from which to choose. Among the prevailing fields in forensic science are those that focus on criminal justice and identification including injury investigation, weapons testing, tattoo analysis, DNA analysis, forensic database, etc.

Among the best known forensic sciences are forensic dentistry, forensic anthropology, fingerprints, criminology, and facial reconstruction. The subfields of forensic science are divided into five major areas. They are: anatomy, botany, chemistry, meteorology, forensic dentistry, and forensic medicine. Forensic dentistry involves dental care and diagnosis. Forensic anthropologists attempt to extract human body parts from crime scenes and investigate the reasons why these parts were recovered. Forensic botanists study the effect of plant materials on humans. They also conduct botanical analyzes and use their expertise to create signs of plant life at crime scenes to assist law enforcement authorities in detecting evidence.
