What is a Webmaster?
Webmasters are expert computer professionals who oversee the optimal operation and maintenance of a website.
What does a Webmaster do?
Webmasters monitor all the features of a website. They troubleshoot technical issues, approve site content, and work with designers and developers to make sure the site looks and performs well on any platform.
A good part of a webmaster’s time is dedicated to maintaining a website. Website maintenance includes updating content, checking for broken links and images, and ensuring that the website code is compatible with all browsers. If the website owner or graphic designer wants to make changes to the site, it is the webmaster’s job to implement those changes.
Webmasters must constantly test their websites to verify and monitor loading time, ease of use, and functionality. Webmasters also check that any content on the website is easily understandable. Users direct complaints about a website to the webmaster, who will assess and resolve the issue as soon as possible.
As a webmaster, customer service skills will be required, as customers can ask questions and request changes. Because even a small mistake can stop the display of a web page, it must be detail-oriented. You will also have to focus on your work, while doing creative tasks.
